Love this, I use to watch all his works. Poetry should be part of the educational process. Diversified learning and teaching tools are always important. Build relationships with your students and learn what’s important to them. Testing methods will always be controversial in schools but we need to test the learning process and challenge students to reach their peak potential.

Poetry is a great way to allow expression. However, most times expression is viewed as too far out of the box and most don't receive it. I say guidance is the key to expression. Allow the students to express themselves in a way that is respectful to everyone. When relationships are truly built in a respectful way then true respectful expression will follow.

School needs to change for sure! I was getting worried about all the stuff they talk about school teaching like it's not important though and I still think it's important to learn some of that stuff. But we also need to be teaching the other stuff too.

School definitely needs to change, but we all know change does not come without resistance. It all depends on how much one is willing to work to make the change happen. Of course the stuff learned in school may not ALL be necessary, but it truly builds character or makes one hate learning. I believe its how things are taught is extremely important.
